To be quite frank, this site was a lark.
It wasn’t planned, but sometimes the greatest things don’t start with a plan. Sometimes you just run, take the leap, see where you land, and adjust along the way. Then one day you wake up, look around and think, “I’ve got an empire! When did THAT happen? I was just starting out with an idea!”
So yes. This is my idea.
Back in late 2024, I started going on TikTok Live. Not regularly at first, but as a way to find myself again. The previous nine years of my life had taken a much-needed detour, and eventually, like chapters in a book, the page needed to turn. I just didn’t know how to get there.
They weren’t bad years. They were years I needed. I was burnt out from living in New York. The life I’d been living wasn’t sustainable, and eventually life itself led me somewhere else.
Going Live became a way to find myself again.
And slowly but surely, I did—with some absolutely insane drama along the way.
So, if you’re not aware, my name is Janifer. That’s both my real name and my stage name.
I’ve been a performer for most of my adult life, working in music and television on both the corporate and performance sides. I’ve spent years in gaming, too—as a collectible card game demonstrator and tournament judge, a video game play tester, and eventually an actual Blackjack, Roulette, and Texas Hold’em dealer. Along the way, I’ve worked for organizations and names like the World Poker Tour, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the Clinton Foundation, Caesars, and many others.
And that’s honestly just the tip of a very weird iceberg.
I’ve won awards for singing and held karaoke titles. I co-ran a podcast with a New York Times audio editor. I was an assistant manager for the main stage at Queens Pride and worked NYC Pride. I’ve shared stages with music legends. I even co-ran a Dance Dance Revolution team in New York City.
I will admit: this is the most random sh*t ever.
But it’s real. It’s my life. And all the receipts and witnesses existed before AI. 😂
Not bad for someone who was once told she was never pretty enough or thin enough to do even half the things I’ve done.
But here’s the thing:
I’m not done yet.
Yes, I can look back at everything I’ve done and say, “That’s actually pretty awesome.” But I don’t want to become one of those people you see in documentaries who spends the rest of their life staring backward at their glory days and forgets there’s still a tomorrow.
There are still opportunities ahead.
There are still ridiculous ideas to try.
There are still stories that haven’t happened yet.
And sometimes the strangest things happen when you’re willing to go out there and grab them.
For instance, did I know when I started doing TikTok Live that the community around me would eventually create an actual cult?
No.
And before anyone gets concerned—I mean they LITERALLY started calling themselves a cult, created a logo and made merch, despite my objections.
Did I ask for this?
No.
Did it happen?
Absolutely.
And that’s not even half of it.
At some point I realized there was so much lore accumulating around my life, my work, my community, and these increasingly ridiculous adventures that I needed somewhere to put it all down.
Because nobody is going to believe this sh*t if I don’t.
And somewhere along the way, that idea became Mythos Nova.
But Mythos Nova isn’t only about me anymore.
It’s becoming a place for creativity to live—my music, my writing, streaming, collaborations, creative experiments, and the work I’m beginning to build with other artists and creators.
All of those things needed a home.
That home is here.
I’ll be honest: I have absolutely no idea how frequently I’ll update this. But I’ll do my best.
In the meantime, you can usually find me causing some variety of chaos on TikTok at JaniferTheGreat.
So, welcome to Mythos Nova.
After all, every legend starts somewhere.
And apparently, this one starts here.
Cheers,
Janifer
